What is this?
A QR code generator. You give it something to share — a web address, a WiFi network, your phone number, a contact card — and it draws the square barcode that carries it. Anyone who points a phone camera at that square gets taken straight to whatever you encoded.
It's one of the free tools on itzgee.com/utils, running on the network’s own self-hosted servers in the UK. No account needed, no adverts, no tracking of what you make.
How do I use it?
Choose a type above — website, WiFi, contact card and so on — then fill in the fields. The code updates as you type. When it looks right, hit download png and you have an image you can print, email, or drop into a design.
Test it with your own phone camera before you print a hundred of them.
Is what I type sent anywhere?
No. The encoding happens in your browser using JavaScript loaded from this page. WiFi passwords, phone numbers and contact details never travel to the server, and there is nothing to store or leak.
You can verify it — disconnect from the network after the page loads and the generator keeps working.
What does "damage tolerance" mean?
QR codes carry spare data so they still scan when part of the symbol is obscured, scratched or distorted. More spare data means a more forgiving code, but also a denser one.
- Standard — screens, flyers, anything flat and clean
- High — curved surfaces, small labels, busy backgrounds
- Maximum — stickers, packaging, fabric, outdoors
Why can't I pick my own colours?
Because most colour combinations quietly break. Scanners need strong contrast between the dark and light modules, and a code that looks fine on screen can fail entirely on paper or in poor light.
Every preset here has been checked to scan reliably. It's a shorter list than a colour picker, but everything on it works.
My code is huge and dense. Why?
QR codes grow with the amount of data. A short web address makes a small, sparse code; a full contact card with a note makes a large one that needs a steadier hand to scan.
If yours looks like static, shorten the content, drop the damage tolerance to standard, or print it bigger. A signed-in account can also make a short link, which keeps the code tiny no matter how long the destination is.
